This is the first single from the 'Music Desegregation' project that features rap over a percussion ensemble and drumline, all in a 7/8 time signature. The rhythm of the lyrics are written into the score but you can also use your own rapper and have them create lyrics as well. Rap, drumline, marimba, and vibraphone are weaved to create this unique blend of genres, featuring jazz improvisation and classical composition techniques. All instruments used were recorded live in a studio. The lyrics confront racial and wealth inequality.
